Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) - Community Connect Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors

Provides physical, education and recreational activities to older adults in the Hasting-Sunrise area of Vancouver.
The Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) provides a combination of physical, educational and recreational activities for frail and pre-frail older adults aged 55 or older currently living in Vancouver. The following activities are offered:
  • One-on-one social and informational support via phone or in-person at Kiwassa
  • Physical activities: Morning exercise & Qi Gong, and walking club
  • Educational activities: health workshops & Digital Literacy one-on-one support
  • Social activities: Bingo, Karaoke, and Arts & Crafts
  • -Bi-monthly Nutritious Community Luncheon
  • Wellness & resource kits for all participants
  • Support in multiple languages
  • Coordination of transportation services
  • Referral service

Eligibility:
This program is for seniors who are:
  • Aged 50+
  • Residents in the Northeast Vancouver neighbourhood
  • Experiencing minor health issues (e.g., memory, mobility, vision, etc.)
  • Looking for friendship and community connection
  • Able to participate independently in programs

Hours: Mondays 12:00 - 2:00 PM, Tuesdays 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, 1st & 3rd Fridays 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Service is available in Cantonese, English, German, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish.
