Income Tax Assistance - For Low Income Delta Residents

Provided by Deltassist

Offered in March and April to assist individuals and families complete their income tax returns.
Low-income Delta residents can drop off and pick up their taxes at Deltassist's Free Tax Clinic. Canada Revenue Agency-trained volunteers are ready to help prepare and file simple tax returns, ensuring individuals receive the benefits and credits they are entitled to without interruptions.

Filing taxes on time ensures access to important benefits and credits, such as:
  • GST/HST Credit
  • Canada Carbon Rebate
  • Canada Child Benefit
  • Provincial and Territorial Payments
This free tax clinic is available to individuals with simple tax situations and a modest family income:
  • 1 person ($35,000)
  • 2 people ($45,000)
  • 3 people ($47,500)
  • 4 people ($50,000)
  • 5 people ($52,500)
  • more than 5 ($52,500, plus $2,500 for each additional person)
Drop-off Service: Complete the registration form, bring the required documents, and drop them off at one of the offices during open hours.
Pick-up Service: Notification will be sent once the return has been completed.
Processing Time: Taxes will be filed within 3 weeks, depending on volunteer availability, and clients will be contacted by phone when they are ready for pickup.
