Advocacy, Disability Services, and Employment
Provided by Milieu Children and Family Services
- Employment: Assist people to achieve and maintain successful employment outcomes, including establishing their own business venture. Staff help to highlight the abilities, skills and preferences of people who want to work. Staff negotiates with the employer to create a position that recognizes the individual’s skills and preferences. The program provides individual planning, job seeker profile preparation, assistance with interview skills, marketing and job search, employment counselling, on-site training and monitoring, and follow-up with employers and participants.
- Self Advocacy: Program creates the perfect person-centred environment to promote and cultivate employment ideas flourishing from an entrepreneurial spirit. The overarching outcome is that of meaningful, gainful activities resulting in an enhanced overall quality of life.
- Community inclusion: Offers day services in Delta and Surrey which focus on community inclusion and vocational support. The Surrey / Fleetwood location is at 15127 Fraser Highway in Surrey. The Delta location is at 11920 – 88th Avenue in Delta.
- Outreach: This service is available either in the community or through the person’s home, depending upon personal preference. This service provides a customized spectrum of supports designed to assist adults in accomplishing specific goals towards greater independence, including community and home life skills, Employment supports, Support coordination, and Hourly respite.
