Christmas Bureau

Provided by Family Services of the North Shore

Provides support to families in need during the holiday season with food, gifts, and toys.
The Christmas Bureau provides support in the following ways:
  • The Toy Shop: A new, donated gift is available for children ages 18 and younger. Toys and gifts for children can be expensive, and The Toy Shop provides an opportunity to select a present to give directly to a child.
  • Holiday Gift Baskets: A gift basket is also available, which includes a wrapped present for each family member and a grocery gift card. The items in these baskets are thoughtfully assembled and donated by community members who wish to help provide what is needed to enjoy a festive meal and celebrate the season with family.
North Shore residents experiencing financial hardship who will be home for the holidays may schedule an appointment to review eligibility, discuss family needs, and learn more about the Christmas Bureau. The following documents are required for the appointment:
  • Government Identification for all adults (18 years and older) in the household
  • B.C. Care Cards for each child in the household
  • Valid student ID for any post secondary students in the household
  • A current rental agreement
  • Proof of address matching the rental agreement (telephone, gas, or hydro bill)
