PROUD2BE 2SLGBTQIA+ Support Group

Provided by Family Services of the North Shore

A program dedicated to empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ people with a focus on trans, two-spirit, non-binary, genderqueer, and youth in our community who do not fit into the traditional gender binary, as well as their families.
PROUD2BE Yourself Groups for Youth:
Youth aged 16–24 who identify as queer, trans, non-binary, two-spirit, and/or questioning are invited to join this free weekly group. Participants will connect with other North Shore and Metro Vancouver youth in discussions led by an experienced master’s-level counsellor. The group offers a supportive space to share experiences, ask questions, and explore identity. For more information or to arrange to join the group, contact 778-580-7881 or email BeYourself@familyservices.bc.ca

PROUD2BE Drop-in Groups for Parents (virtual):
Parents and caregivers of gender-diverse youth are invited to join a free, weekly drop-in group for safe, judgment-free discussions, co-facilitated by two experienced counsellors. This welcoming space offers opportunities to connect with others, ask questions, and learn more about supporting queer, trans, non-binary, two-spirit, gender-diverse, and/or gender-questioning children and teens. The group meets via Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 6:00–8:00 p.m. To arrange an initial individual meeting with the group facilitators, email proud2be@familyservices.bc.ca.

Counselling Support (virtual and in-person): Family Services of the North Shore is a 2SLGBTQIA+ positive organization. Highly trained and experienced therapists provide counselling support in a safe and inclusive space for adults, youth, children, and families.

PROUD2BE Gender Identity Conference: Each year, the annual PROUD2BE conference is typically hosted in partnership with West Vancouver Youth Services. This province-wide event brings together youth, parents, and service providers for activities, panel discussions, workshops, entertainment, and clinical services. Designed to support and connect 2SLGBTQ2SIA+, gender-diverse, and allied communities, the conference is open to children, youth, families, and professionals.

PROUD2BE Gender Identity Events: Features speakers with lived experience, professional panel discussions, workshops, and support for gender-diverse, gender-questioning, and 2SLGBTQIA+ children, youth, their families, and professionals. These events provide a community space to learn, ask questions, access support, and connect with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and allied communities.
