Stress and Anger Management Workshops for Adults

Provided by Deltassist

Group workshops for residents of Delta to learn about healthy relationships and stress management, mindfulness, and anger management.
Exploring Anger (for self-identified women):
This is a 6-week group for self-identified women who have experienced any relationship abuse. Participants explore how trauma and abuse, as well as social context, can impact experiences of anger. The group will also practice emotional regulation, CBT, and DBT skills for working with anger.

Healthy Relationships & Stress Management
The sessions will teach participants the skills of effective communication, problem-solving, listening, conflict resolution, impulse control, stress management and coping strategies. It is a group for adults who are 19 years or older, that are self-referred and who have difficulty managing their anger and stress in intimate relationships, same-sex relationships, at work or in social situations. Attendees must not be charged with or are not currently facing charges related to domestic violence.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Management
Participants will learn about stress and its impact on one’s emotional and physical health. They will learn what mindfulness is and learn strategies based on mindfulness to manage their stress. Neurosciences research show that by practicing mindfulness, the brain can be shaped for greater happiness, love, wisdom and emotional balance in turbulent times, healthier relationships, more effective actions, and greater peace of mind.

Anger Management
This is a 12-week program for anyone who has difficulty managing their anger and would like to learn healthy ways of coping and communicating. Individuals learn to deal with stress, develop empathy and respond instead of reacting. The program also offers prevention and intervention to perpetrators of violence before a charge, conviction or sentencing through the criminal justice process or other. Certification of completion will be provided upon completion. Call to register (see phone number below). The place is limited; please register early.
