- Managing a health condition such as: type II diabetes, hypertension, insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, coronary heart disease, stroke, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, obesity, or abnormal lipids, AND
- Experiencing regular gaps in accessing healthy, fresh foods, AND
- Referred by a health provider.
The market will run at least one day per week year-round. These markets may also offer food demonstrations, activities, tips, and recipes to help participants make healthy food choices and eat healthy on a budget. The markets can also serve to connect people to other programs and services such as those offered at Kiwassa Neighbourhood House or other local agencies.
