Offers in-residence treatment and community-based services over a two-year period designed to promote recovery from problematic substance dependence using a trauma-informed philosophy, emphasizing stabilization, safety, healing, connection, and growth.
Pacifica provides affordable in-residence treatment and community-based recovery services for individuals struggling with problematic substance use.

Program Offers:
  • Distinct phases, from pre-engagement to continuing care and alumni services
  • Individualized care plans, uniquely tailored to each community member
  • Counselling, check-ins & workshops
  • A balanced approach, including nutrition, exercise, & mindfulness practices
  • Exercise, recreational activities, & nature-based excursions
  • Social engagement, peer support networks, & community-building
  • Individual assignments, process groups, & one-on-one counselling
  • Complementary and alternative approaches such as music & art therapy, acupuncture, & healing energy practices

Admission Criteria:
  • Shall be a minimum of 19 years of age. Note that Pregnant women will have a priority admission;
  • Shall enter programming voluntarily with a commitment to self-discovery and seeking sustainable solutions to meet their recovery-based goals;
  • Shall be medically stable;
  • Shall be comfortable and respectful in a gender inclusive and 2SLGBTQQI+ community;
  • Shall conduct all medical, dental, legal, or other appointments prior to admission to Pacifica Treatment Centre;
  • Shall be able to understand and verbally communicate in English (for safety);

Cost:There are two funding options available for individuals to consider when selecting Pacifica Treatment Centre. The program offers publicly funded and privately funded stays:

Publicly Funded: The program offers publicly funded, in-residence primary treatment for individuals aged 19 and over who are residents of British Columbia. The publicly funded program is 84 days in duration and is primarily funded through Vancouver Coastal Health. Eligible individuals receiving government or ministry funding may have per diem expenses partially or fully covered, up to $45 per day. The overall cost of treatment is further subsidized through contributions from foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
