Training, Consulting, and Learning Resources - About sexual and gender diversity

Provided by QMUNITY

Diversity and Inclusion Experts help individuals, families, businesses, schools, and service providers to identify and avoid discriminatory behaviours and to explore the complexity, fluidity, and potential of sexual and gender diversity.
Queer Competency Trainings:
Experiential workshops to help individuals, service providers, and organizations understand diversity and make your organization more inclusive for queer, trans, and Two-Spirit clients and staff. The training is designed to target the workshop to specific needs or age-group to create powerful and engaging learning environments and to guarantee a fun and non-judgemental experience for everyone.

Pridespeaks:
Interactive workshops for and by youth about sexual orientation, gender identity, and bullying. They are supported by the Ministry of Children and Family Development and the Vancouver School Board. Youth facilitators provide accurate, non-judgmental information about sexual orientation, gender identity, derogatory language, bullying at school, and myths and stereotypes about LGBTQ/2S youth. The workshops can be tailored upon request and are available for K-12 students.

Advisory Services:
Program staff is available to consult with service providers, educators, business leaders, and other professionals to help them understand how to best work with queer, trans, and Two-Spirit clients, how to make services more welcoming, how to reach out and engage with local LGBTQ/2S communities, and how to address and remedy situations where inclusion has been compromised.

Info Tables:
Community events and conferences are great opportunities to connect with the greater community. Information tables are staffed by volunteers to engage with attendees, answer their questions, and connect people with resources or groups.

Conferences and Panels:
In addition to training workshops, QMUNITY staff welcome opportunities to present at and participate in community events, conferences and panel discussions.
