LifeRing alcohol and drug support groups provide access for women and men to community-based mutual self-help support groups for those who self-identify with problematic substance use.
LifeRing is focused on addiction recovery / substance use via peer support meetings. The organization provides access for women and men to community-based mutual self-help support groups for those who self-identify with problematic substance use. LifeRing welcomes people of all cultures, identities, faiths, and none to gather together as Peers to support each other’s substance-free journeys. In-person meetings are small, and in a circular format to create an environment in which all can participate. These are offered throughout the Province. Online meetings occur throughout the country at varying times and can be joined via individual links.

Support is provided for people in all stages of recovery and emphasizes personal responsibility; individualized recovery plans; self-empowerment; peer-support and the organization adheres to principles and practices founded on evolving research. In addition, LifeRing builds relationships with healthcare professionals, educators, and community partners. Trained facilitators personally impacted by addiction and recovery voluntarily run LifeRing groups. Face-to-face and online meetings, as well as online chat rooms for support, are offered.

There is a diversity of approaches to sober living; it is up to each person to decide what does and does not work for them. The main purpose of the group is to create the right environment to reinforce each other’s choices to stay clean and sober. LifeRing is an ongoing “workshop” where individuals build their own recovery plan.
