Dragonstone - Low Cost Counselling

Provided by Dragonstone Counselling

Offers individual, relationship and family counselling for clients of all ages and genders in Vancouver.
Offers affordable sliding-scale counselling for clients facing significant financial barriers related to unemployed, under-employed, and marginalization. Common counselling issues addressed include life & transitions, family & relationships, gender-orientations-sexuality, trauma, physical health, and emotional well-being.

Clients are typically matched with a qualified intern. Partners may also offer sliding-scale availability. For more information, contact a counsellor directly. To view the current team of interns, click here.

Sliding scale cost breakdown for low-cost counselling with supervised interns:
  • Tier 1: $60-80: For folks who cannot afford to access counselling at industry standard rates (set at approximately $120-160 per hour by most professional associations).
  • Tier 2: $35-59: For folks who are underemployed or living paycheque to paycheque for whom Tier 1 costs make accessing counselling unfeasible. Some costs of your counselling are subsidized by those who can pay at a higher tier or by volunteer work.
  • Tier 3: $34 and lower: For folks who are struggling with significant financial hardship, we offer sessions below minimum operating cost, subsidized by those who can pay at higher tier levels and by the generous volunteer contributions of our counsellors, staff and supervisors.
