Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB)

GVFB operates locations across the Lower Mainland, serving residents of Vancouver, Burnaby, and the North Shore. Services are available Tuesday to Friday each week, excluding the week provincial Social Assistance cheques are issued.
The food bank is available to people living in Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Burnaby. Anyone who lives outside these areas should contact the food bank in their city or call BC 211.

Individuals wishing to register as new clients with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank for weekly food access can email or call to set up an appointment (See contact below). On-site registration appointments are available at the Burnaby and Vancouver locations. Please note that walk-in registrations are not accepted.

The food bank also provides baby essentials to families with children under 18 months (formula and baby food) and under 36 months (diapers). Children aged 2 to 6 years may receive an additional healthy snack bag once per month, and seniors aged 65+ are eligible for a seniors’ food pack.

To register:
  • A piece of government-issued identification (i.e., driver’s license, passport, Care Card, etc.) for each household member.
  • Proof of address (i.e., rental agreement, utility bill).
  • Care cards or any government-issued ID for all of the dependents living with you (both adults and children)
