Addiction Recovery Housing for Women

Chrysalis Society operates long-term addiction recovery homes for marginalized self-identified women (19+) in Vancouver.

Chrysalis has a long-standing reputation for working with highly marginalized women with complex mental health issues. Chrysalis supports women prescribed medicines that often hinder eligibility for other inpatient addiction programs.

New Dawn - Stage 1: Stabilization Transitional Living Residence. New Dawn is a long-term recovery home where women have the safety and post-detox programming and structure they require to heal and stabilize. New Dawn is publicly funded by the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation.

New Day, New Way - Stage 2: Two 2nd-stage programs, women are able to choose the recovery module that their personal needs and preferences (ie: 12-Step, 16-Step, AA, NA, Smart Recovery, Lifering, etc.). Residents create a personal recovery plan and is then supported to achieve her self-identified goals. New Day is an Indigenous-led program for self-identified Indigenous women seeking 2nd stage support on their recovery journey. Encompassing a holistic philosophy, we work from the perspective of ‘two-eyed seeing’; this means that we combine both an Indigenous and Western approach to wellness. The fees for clients on social assistance are covered by the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation and depend on assistance. Self-paying clients, including OAS, CPP, are individually assessed based on monthly income and expenses.

Referral Details: If you and your counsellor have pre-determine that you meet the minimum requirements, please follow through with the following steps:
  • Review the program guidelines to ensure the program aligns with your needs and goals for recovery.
  • Complete the CAIT referral with your counsellor or other addiction professional
  • The counsellor will then submit the referral to the CAIT team at Vancouver Coast Health.
  • Continue weekly check-ins with the Addictions Intake Worker: Call 604-325-0576. Women who make no contact with Chrysalis Society for 30 days will be removed from the waitlist.
