Family / Parenting, Food, Pregnancy Care, and Services for Children
Provided by Eastside Family Place
- Nobody’s Perfect: An experiential program for parents to develop and strengthen their parenting skills. Two 6-week sessions annually. Childminding available for children over 18 months old. There is no charge for this program, but participants must be a member of the Eastside Family Place Society. The membership fee is $30.00 per year.
- Circle of Security: A program designed for parents children aged 0-6 years who want to strengthen the bonds with their children and would like support to help their children to build secure relationships. Participants must be able to commit to the full 7 weeks. Childcare available.
- Youth Parents Drop In: This is a free program for parents 26 years old and under. Come and meet up with other youth parents and their children. Led by peer facilitators Wednesdays from 1:30pm - 3:00pm.
- Healthy Together: Parents volunteers come in and help cook and share a vegetarian recipe with other families.
- Workshops: Workshops on a variety of topics for parents/caregivers are offered throughout the year. Recent workshops have included infant massage, first aid, sleep, discipline and many others. Workshops are facilitated by community professionals and are scheduled on a monthly or bimonthly basis. Most workshops are short, two hours or less, and are usually only one session. Workshops are provided at no charge for ESFP members and childminding is available, also at no charge, for children aged 18 months to early six years.
- Early Literacy and Learning: Jump Into Music is one-of-a-kind music and movement program which engages, educates, and entertains both parent and child. Spanish Mother Goose (Mama Ganso) is a program which supports a deeper attachment between the adult and the child through songs, rhymes, games and stories.
- Drop-In admission fee of $3 per session per family; $6 per session for caregivers with more than one family
- Participate in ESFP’s program at no-charge
- Access to ESFP’s Licensed Occasional Childcare
- The right to vote at ESFP’s annual general meeting
- Receive ESFP’s newsletters, program information, and events via email
- Free coffee or tea while visiting ESFP
