Get Set & Connect - Social Activities For Adults Living with Mental Illness

A peer based program which enhances mental health and well-being to people with lived experience with a mental health and/or addiction concern through leisure and or volunteer activities.
Get Set & Connect (GSC) is a peer based program which enhances mental health and well-being to people with lived experience with a mental health and/or addiction concern through leisure and or volunteer activities. The program focuses on community inclusion and building meaningful connections. There are five components of the program: One to One Leisure and Volunteer Community Access Coaching, Connecting through Peer Led Groups, Independent Leisure, Independent Volunteer Exploration and Group Volunteer Exploration.

What Does the Program Offer?
  • One to One Leisure and Volunteer Access Coaching
  • Connecting with others through peer led leisure activities in the community
  • Independent & Group Volunteer Exploration to build volunteer skills
Criteria to Join Get Set & Connect:
  • Have a lived experience of a mental health and/or addiction concern
  • Have community inclusion as a goal
  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of Vancouver
  • Have other professional mental health supports
