Senior and Caregiver Support

Provided by Family Services of the North Shore

Provides various support services to seniors and caregivers.
The following programs are offered:
  • Counselling: Seniors or caregivers struggling with isolation, anxiety, depression, loss, life transitions, abuse, or needing assistance managing emotions or determining next steps in life can receive support from a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
  • Volunteer Caring Connections for Seniors: Dedicated and experienced volunteers provide individual support for seniors living with chronic or terminal illness or those who are feeling isolated or lonely. Volunteers can connect via weekly phone calls or walking companionship.
  • Caregivers Connect Programs: Provides free support, connections, resources, and referrals for family and friends caring for older adults who live at home.
  • Caregivers Support Groups: Connect with other caregivers in these welcoming support groups. Experience support and community while learning about topics related to seniors and caregiving. One group meets online and the other group meets in person. Both groups require registration.
  • Grief Support Group: For those struggling with the loss of someone close, a free 8-week support group is available to guide participants through the grieving process in a safe and nurturing setting alongside others who have experienced loss. Facilitated by a Registered Clinical Counsellor. This group requires registration.
