The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC (Crisis Centre) is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to helping people help themselves and others deal with crisis.
The Crisis Centre relies on the incredible network of volunteers to deliver essential services. Volunteers gain valuable experience, develop new skills, and make a real difference in the lives of others. They also become part of a supportive network of individuals who share the same passion for helping people in crisis.

Volunteers are trained and supported to share their unique skills in a variety of rewarding roles:
  • Crisis Response: Offering a listening ear and emotional support to individuals in crisis on our phone lines and texting service. This vital role provides hope and resources during someone’s most difficult moments.
  • Community & Education: Facilitating workshops in classrooms and community events to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. Your efforts empower individuals and communities to build resilience and support one another.
  • Administrative Support: Providing essential support behind the scenes with tasks like communication, fundraising, and administrative duties. Your contributions ensure the smooth operation of the Centre, allowing us to focus on our core services.
For a meaningful way to contribute to the community, consider volunteering with the Crisis Centre. Volunteers from all walks of life, with diverse skills and experiences, are welcomed.
