Youth Programs for Homless and At-Risk Youths

Youth Excelling and Attaining Housing (YEAH!) program 18-month housing subsidies to youth without stable housing or at risk of losing their homes. It promotes wellness, stability, and community integration, preparing participants to maintain independent housing confidently. The YEAH Parenting Program provides young parents with additional support, combining housing stability with resources to strengthen parenting skills and create nurturing family environments. Who can participate? Youth who:
- Are aged 16 to 24, or referred before turning 25
- Are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Need financial assistance, based on individual assessments
- Are willing to attend appointments with the YEAH Program Case Manager
- Are connected with at least one other professional who provides support
- Are willing to live in Metro/Greater Vancouver
- Attend monthly life-skills sessions
- Maintain contact with another professional support person at least once per month
- Are working toward becoming more financially independent
- Have a plan to work toward life goals, such as education and/or employment
- Agree to follow the program guidelines and voluntarily wish to participate
The YEAH! Parenting Program (formerly known as TTIPII): Program follows the same guidelines and principles of the YEAH! program. However, this program targets homeless pregnant or parenting youth between the ages of 16 and 24. This 18-month program provides housing support and rental subsidies for youth who are navigating challenges related to substance use, mental health, and parenting. With a strong focus on building self-reliance, the program offers support in developing life skills, critical thinking, and healthy community relationships.

“Stop, Think, Assess, & Respond” (S.T.A.R. Program): Educates grades 4-7 across Greater Vancouver on drugs, safety, and community using interactive quizzes and role plays. Adapting since 2000, it addresses vaping, social media, and other relevant issues, building resiliency and healthy decision-making. Click here to contact the youth team.
The ICOP Program: Provides intensive one-on-one support services tailored for Aboriginal youth. It includes outreach, activity-based counselling, and life skills support within trusting relationships between youth and their dedicated worker. Click here to contact the youth team.
The Passages Program: Offers workshops and events designed for self-identified urban Indigenous girls aged 12-16, currently residing in the foster care system. Click here to contact the youth team.
