Avalon Recovery Society - Supports for women recovering from addiction

Free programs and services for women and families with lived experience of addiction and trauma.
Avalon Women’s Centres offer peer support, meeting spaces for women in recovery, free childminding, drop-in hours, a resource library, wellness programming, and a clothing closet. Avalon Women’s Centres are for anyone who identifies as a woman, trans-inclusive, 2SLLGBTQ++ affirming.

Avalon hosts a variety of support group meetings, both in person and online with zoom. Some meeting topics include:
  • Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
  • Al Anon
  • Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families (ACA)
  • Co-Dependents Anonymous (CODA)
  • Narcotics Anonymous (NA)
  • Sex and Love Addiction Anonymous (SLAA)
Workshops include:
  • Stress Management (Physical Wellbeing)
  • Mindfulness and Healing (Spiritual Wellbeing)
  • Boundaries and Acceptance (Emotional Wellbeing)
