Covenant House Vancouver Offers a range of free programs and services for youth ages 16–24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including drop-in supports, outreach, crisis shelter, and transitional housing. These services focus on meeting basic needs like safety, food, and health care, as well as long-term support such as housing help, life skills, and counselling.

Street Outreach:
The outreach team travels on foot, offering food, support, supplies, and minor medical attention to young people, age 16 to 24, who are living, or at risk of living, on Vancouver’s streets; or who are precariously housed. The Outreach team:
  • Distributes food, harm reduction supplies, hygiene kits, and clothing
  • Connects youth to community partners and resources (like psychiatrists, medical professionals, and social workers)
  • Builds relationships with young people by being a consistent, supportive presence in their lives.
  • Invites youth to come to our Drop-In Centre for a hot meal, shower, or to help with anything they want to work on.
Drop-In Centre:
The Drop-In Centre is a space for youth, age 16–24, experiencing homelessness, to access a wide range of resources and connect with the Covenant House Vancouver team. At the Drop-In Centre, youth receive:
  • Food, clothing, and hygiene supplies
  • Use of our message board, long-distance phone plan, and a mailing address
  • Access to a shower, laundry facilities, and the clothing room
  • Access to Covey’s Cupboard (a pantry with items youth can take away)
  • Recreational opportunities, including yoga, soccer, hockey, basketball and baseball
  • Connections to youth workers and a peer support worker for support, counselling, and personal planning
  • Access to an in-house substance use counsellor and programs focused on support and recovery
  • Appointments with mental health clinicians and psychiatrists
  • Help from a housing support worker and independent living start-up kits
  • Referrals to other social services
  • Help with finding employment and referrals to job centres and training programs
The Drop-In Centre is open seven days a week to support youth in need. The Front Desk (offers snacks and some immediate needs) from 8am–12am. Visit the website to view the drop-in schedule.
