Provides information and support services for individuals with disabilities and their families.
The following services are offered:
  • Disability Planning Helpline: The helpline is available anytime from anywhere in Canada, providing access to family experts who can answer questions about the Disability Tax Credit, the Registered Disability Savings Plan, trusts and estate planning, advocacy approaches, government benefit programs, social network building, staying socially connected, and more. Individuals can call the toll-free helpline at any time at (1-844-311-7526) and leave a message, and expect a response from a family expert within 4 to 8 business days. Alternatively, inquiries can be sent via email to helpline@planinstitute.ca.
  • Future Planning Tool: The Future Planning Tool is promotes long-term well-being for Canadians with disabilities by helping them and their families to accomplish their future planning goals, including financial planning, housing, relationships and more. Available in English and French, the tool is user-friendly, easy to navigate and helps simplify complex planning steps to ultimately develop a personalized future plan. Access the tool here.
  • Educational Initiatives: Program provides a suite of educational initiatives designed for individuals and/or families of a person with a disability, support-care workers, and organizations, including workshops, courses, retreats, publications and resources.
