Sexual Assault Services
Abuse / Neglect, Indigenous Services, and Victim Services
Provided by Salal Sexual Violence Support Centre
- Hospital Accompaniment: Support workers can accompany survivors seeking medical attention from the Sexual Assault Service team at Vancouver General Hospital
- Police and Court Accompaniment: Offers support, accompaniment, information, and referrals for survivors engaging with the criminal justice system (police and court system).
- Counselling: One-to-one counselling and support groups free of charge to survivor who’ve experienced sexual assault. Bus tickets and childcare subsidies can be prearranged.
- Indigenous Counselling: Provides one-to-one counselling for Indigenous survivors of sexual assault. Sessions are confidential, free of charge, and incorporate traditional Indigenous healing approaches.
- MMIWG2S Family Counselling: This program provides telephone, one-to-one, group and family counselling for self-identified family members of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The program also offers traditional healing ceremonies.
