Dietitian Services - Nutritional Counselling Clinic

Provided by Providence Health Care

The Registered Dietitians at the Dietitian Outpatient Clinic work with other health care specialists at Providence Health Care to provide nutrition services and education.
A referral is needed. All referred patients will receive a one hour consultation with a dietitian and then follow up appointments can be made as needed. Referral forms can be found on the Providence Health Care.

Clinical nutrition services:

  • Nutrition assessment, help and education to patients and residents
  • Meals and snacks that meet the nutrition needs of patients and residents
  • Evidence-based medical nutrition therapy
  • Work with the health care team to provide patient and resident care
  • Connect with the community for smooth and continued patient and resident care
  • Act as a resource for the health care team and other health care professionals
  • Ensure standards are met through quality assurance activities
  • Research activities to help improve nutrition knowledge and care for patients and residents
  • Support the education of students and dietetic interns
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of current nutrition information and issues
  • Promote healthy eating throughout Providence and the community it serves
