Provides food support services to individuals and families in the Chilliwack community.
Food Bank: Provides essential food support with dignity and care for individuals and families in the Chilliwack community. Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Registration is required. New clients must make an appointment to meet with an intake worker and provide photo identification and proof of address.
Food Bank After Hours: Food Bank After Hours helps those who find it difficult to visit during regular daytime hours. They offer extended hours for both the Pantry and Hamper appointments every Wednesday, making it easier for individuals and families to access the support they need.
The Food Bank Hamper Program Offers new appointment times on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Regular daily hamper appointments will continue as usual, and the 30-day eligibility rule still applies. After Hours Hamper appointments can be booked in person or by phone starting the Thursday prior.
The Community Pantry: Provides fresh and nutritious food while reducing waste in the Chilliwack community. The Salvation Army Pantry program recovers fresh produce and other donated food from local grocery stores and redistributes it to those in need. Some of the food supports the Soup Kitchen, while the majority is available through the Pantry for individuals and families to supplement their food hampers. People can visit once per day to select fresh food items, and any food that cannot be used is donated to local farmers for their animals. The pantry's free grocery store operates from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays, while maintaining regular hours of 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Soup Kitchen: Serves nutritious meals and fosters a welcoming space. The Community Soup Kitchen provides over 120 hot lunches daily to anyone who is hungry. The program is open to all with no questions asked and no judgment. Everyone is welcome to come, enjoy a meal, and be part of the caring community.
