Provides proactive prevention and education strategies to all Squamish Nation families with children 0-6 years.
The Ayás Mén̓men family programs provide culturally specific parenting and child development programming for 0-6 years. This program is compromised of a multidisciplinary team providing the following services/care coordinators: Dental Hygienist, Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Therapist, Aboriginal Supported Child Development Worker, Aboriginal Infant Development Worker, Community Health Nurse/Public Health Nurse.
Provides: Transportation to/from programs, Culture/language, Community Kitchen, Support for families regarding infant and child development.
Programs offered include Speech and Language, Community Health Nurse, Aboriginal Head Start (Mother Bear is a licensed preschool), Pre and Post Natal, Family Programs, Aboriginal Infant Development, Aboriginal Supported Child Development, Home Instruction for parents of preschool youngsters (HIPPY).
